🎸In the summer of 1985, amid the roar of one of the most iconic concerts in history, Kim stood in the crowd at Live Aid. Like thousands of others packed into Wembley Stadium, she watched in awe as Freddie Mercury took to the stage with Queen. The energy was electric, the performance unforgettable. For Kim, it wasn’t just a concert, it was a moment that would quietly shape a lifelong love of music and performance.

Four decades later, that spark has come full circle.

Now, in May 2026, Kim is stepping onto the stage herself in the hit musical We Will Rock You, performed at Dobbie Hall in Larbert. Produced by Larbert Musical Theatre, the show runs from the 12th to the 16th May, and for Kim, it’s more than just another production.

“It feels surreal,” she says. “Back then, I was just one face in a massive crowd, completely blown away. Now I’m on stage, performing those same songs. It’s a bit of a full circle moment.”

Kim remembers exactly how it all began.

“My friend Claire and I bought a raffle ticket at the Rainbow Rocks disco in Stirling. We split the cost of the ticket as between us we could only afford one! That same night I also met my husband-to-be, Brian, so it really was a winning night all round.”

A phone call came just days later, to say she and Claire had won. The prize? Tickets, travel, and accommodation to Live Aid at Wembley Stadium!!

“We travelled down by bus the following Friday and stayed until Sunday before heading back home. When we arrived at Wembley, the scale of it all completely took our breath away.”

Although they started in the seated area, nothing could keep them there for long.

“We made our way down into the standing crowd during ‘Drive’ by The Cars. We were really moving down to see David Bowie!”

Then came the moment that would stay with her forever.

“Words can’t describe the excitement and emotions as Queen came on… they absolutely stole the show. ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ had us spellbound, then ‘Radio Ga Ga’ was just magical, everyone clapping along with Freddie. He had every single one of us in the palm of his hands.”

“Definitely the greatest live rock performance in history… and I was there, i still can’t quite believe it!!!”

We Will Rock You features some of Queen’s most beloved anthems, and while the musical itself is set in a futuristic world, its heart lies in the timeless power of Rock Music, something Kim understands deeply.
Friends and fellow cast members describe her as passionate and dedicated, bringing authenticity and joy to every rehearsal. “You can tell this music means something special to her,” one castmate says. “She’s lived it. She was there at Wembley, one of the thousands singing back to Freddie… Ai-Oh!”

For audiences in Larbert, the production promises high energy, bold performances, and a celebration of Queen’s enduring legacy. For Kim, it’s something even more personal, a tribute to a moment in 1985 when a young fan stood in a crowd, unaware that one day she’d be on stage herself.

From the crowd at Wembley to the spotlight at Dobbie Hall, Kim’s journey is a reminder that music connects moments across time, and sometimes, brings them beautifully back around.
